Alumni
We are very proud of our Rietveld alumni, and consequently would like to know how all alumni have been doing since graduation. That is why we would like to extend a warm invitation to our alumni to become a member of our newly established Alumni Network: The Rietveld Society.
We look forward to welcome all our alumni to The Rietveld Society and are pleased to offer all new members The Rietveld Society Button (see image), an exclusive design by Graphic Design students Nina Paim and Remy Alban Valton.

ONDER ANDEREN…
alumni Fashion Department
‘Onder Anderen…’ shows a handpicked selection of alumni of the Fashion Department of Gerrit Rietveld Academie. In doing so it represents the vision of the department over the last 20 years.
The works of former students of the Rietveld will be presented in an installation designed by X + L and vary from applied pieces to autonomous designs. ‘Onder Anderen…’ tells us that fashion at the Rietveld is all about an open minded and experimental approach, within a context suitable for the individual talent and interest.
Curator is Niels Klavers, head of the Fashion Department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie.
Participating designers: Joff (Joffrey Moolhuizen), Dimitry Frenko Krul, And Beyond (Jolanda van den Broek & Brigitte Hendrix), Kevin Power, Pablo Londono Sarria, Brown Clothes (Melanie Brown), Felix & Mumford (Claire Fons), Corné Gabriëls, Klavers van Engelen (Niels Klavers & Astrid van Engelen), Ado Les Scents (Hyun Yeu), Franciscus van der Meer, Soepboer & Stooker (Berber Soepboer & Anne Stooker), Thera Hillenaar, Elisa Van Joolen (voorheen Elisa Marchesini 2006 - 2011), Emmeline de Mooij, Freudenthal/Verhagen (Carmen Freudenthal & Elle Verhagen), Victor de Bie, Wojciech Dziedzic.

SALON/ is an initiative that creates a crossover experience to inspire and instigate a discussion and dialogue between art, design and fashion. SALON/ initiates both an offline and an online platform to endorse artists and designers and to generate a reflection. Our events take place at various locations in Amsterdam, over a number of days whereby visitors can experience the creative works of both well-known and emerging artists/designers in different contexts, so creating a dynamic, interactive and social event.

The Rietveld Society
The Rietveld Society is developing a platform to improve communication and possibilities for exchange between all members of the worldwide alumni network. Being connected to The Rietveld Society could for instance lead to (guest) teaching positions at the academy, interesting group projects/exhibitions both in and outside of the Netherlands, and other types of collaborations or initiatives.
Research
Additionally, our aim is to learn more about the career development of the Rietveld alumni both in and outside of the art and design world.
We, therefore, have teamed up with the University of Amsterdam to gather information about the specific career and artistic development of Rietveld alumni. By knowing which kind of careers alumni undertake will help the Rietveld Academie keep the program in tune with the ever changing artistic climate, which in light of the current debate in the Netherlands is more relevant than ever.
Contact
The Rietveld Society will keep you updated through the website, our monthly update by email and our facebook and LinkedIn.
